Nature is a shared space for people to participate in a variety of activities at their own level, at their own pace, with their peers, or solo. It allows us to ‘connect our communities through trails’. We are accountable to treat other people, and our natural environment with respect. It’s a safe space for people to be themselves regardless of race, gender or orientation. Please be mindful of others’ experiences, and be stewards of outdoor sport.
Community
- Communicate with respect. Obscene, harassing, racial slurs, and hate speech are unacceptable in person or on the internet.
- Be considerate of sponsors/partners. Excessive noise/behaviors on private properties can sour relationships with land owners.
- Use spaces as they are intended - trespassing, destruction of property, smoking, consuming alcohol, drug use or improper use of restrooms is not permitted.
- Be a role model to other user groups - connect our communities
Trails
- Ride open trails - Do not trespass. Stay on the trail and follow directional arrows.
- Do not ride when the trails are wet, this creates tire tracks and erodes our trails.
- Leave no trace - No litter - pack it in / pack it out
- Control your Bicycle - Act responsibly; Know your limits. Anticipate other trail users.
- Yield Appropriately - Bicyclists yield to other trail users. Bicyclists traveling downhill yield to ones headed uphill, unless the trail is clearly signed as one-way or downhill-only
- Be patient and supportive of other trail users. Make each pass a safe and courteous one. Let your fellow trail users know you’re coming.
- Plan ahead and be self-sufficient: Always wear a helmet and appropriate safety
